Tour Itinerary

Memphis and Sakkara Tour from Sokhna Port

We’ll pick you up at Sokhna Port in a private, air-conditioned car. To start your amazing tour, we’ll take you to the following places:

Saqqara pyramid:

We will move to Saqqara, which is a group of pyramids that, like Giza, is part of the Memphis Necropolis. We will see one of the first pyramids, which was used as a model for all the pyramids that came after it.

Imhotep, the most famous Egyptian architect, built the Step Pyramid of Zoser for the Pharaoh Zoser around 2650 BC. It has a rectangular base and is about 60 metres high. It was part of a ceremonial complex that was built for Zoser.

Then go to a nearby restaurant to eat lunch.

Lunch

At the end of our trip to the Giza pyramids, we’ll take a break to eat and rest. Egyptian food will be served at a restaurant for lunch (drinks not included).

Ancient Memphis Egypt:

The last part of our trip will start after we leave Saqqara. We will go to Memphis, which was the capital of the Old Empire from 3100 BC to 2040 BC and where all of the Empire’s pharaohs were crowned.

Narmer, who is thought to have been the first pharaoh, is said to have started the city of Memphis. The city is in the Nile Delta, which is between Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt, which are the two parts of the country.

In 1820, a huge statue of Ramses II, who ruled Egypt from 1279 to 1213 BC and is one of the most well-known pharaohs, was found in the Great Temple of Ptah near Memphis.

The colossus is more than 11 meters tall and weighs more than 80 tonnes. It is made of pink granite. It was once in the middle of Cairo, but erosion did a lot of damage to it. To protect it, it was moved to Memphis and put on display in a covered area.

We’ll take you back to Sokhna Port when the tour is over.
