The Museum of Ancient Egyptians:
The next stop on your trip will be the Egyptian Museum, where you can see things from the time of the Pharaohs. The museum has a rare collection of art from the last 5,000 years. It is thought to be the world’s most valuable collection of Egyptian art. There are more than 25,000 artifacts on display, including a show about Tutankhamun’s treasure, furniture, and jewelry, which had been in his tomb for more than 3,500 years before Howard Carter found them in 1922.
Cairo Citadel:
The second part of the tour takes us to the Citadel of Saladin, which is on the other side of the Nile.
It is a fortress in a part of the city that is higher up. It was built in 1176. Its military history and natural beauty are still there, even though you can’t visit a lot of it because it’s used by the military. Still, anyone can find out about the history. In addition to the fortifications and the priceless view of the city, you can admire the Great Mosque of Muhammad Ali, which is one of the symbols you must see.
Lunch:
At the end of our trip to Saladin Citadel, we’ll take a break to eat and rest. Egyptian food will be served at a restaurant for lunch (drinks not included).
Coptic Egypt:
Then you will go to Coptic Cairo to see the Ben Ezra Synagogue, St. Barbara Church, Abu Serga Church, and the Hanging Church.
Khan El Khalili Bazaar:
See the beautiful Khan El Khalili, Cairo’s famous main market, after you’ve been to the Egyptian Museum. It is the center of the Egyptian capital and is always full of tourists and Egyptians. You can let loose in the different markets, where you can find anything and buy some great handicrafts made by locals.
We’ll take you back to Port Said after the tour.
